Bioinformatics Research Analyst; Hybrid - Neurology

The Albanus Lab in the Department of Neurology is searching for a Bioinformatics Research Analyst. The successful candidate will be involved in projects integrating multi-omics (single‑cell RNA‑seq, ATAC‑seq, spatial transcriptomics) and genetics to understand the biology of human aging, with a focus on neurodegenerative diseases and personalized medicine. The candidate will assist with ongoing lab research and support collaborations.

• Implements algorithms and computer software for analyzing omics‑based data sets (high‑throughput, massively parallel genomic/proteomic/clinical) and provides data management and analysis solutions that aid in the storage, investigation and dissemination of large data sets.
• Coordinates research projects with other investigators and institutions.
• Participates in developing hypotheses and experimental design.
• Assists with reporting of methods, data and results.

• Works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards.
• Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.
• Normal office environment.

• Typically sitting at desk or table.
• Repetitive wrist, hand or finger movement (PC typing).

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
• Work Experience:
  
  Relevant experience of 2 years.
• No specific certifications or professional licenses required.
• Driver’s license not required.
