Senior Food Scientist

Missouri (On Site, Full Time)

We are partnering with a global manufacturer of food ingredients based in the midwest. The company supplies innovative ingredient solutions to customers around the world and has built a strong reputation for quality, technical expertise, and product innovation across the food and beverage industry.

As part of its continued growth, the business is looking to hire a Senior Food Scientist with hands on experience in natural colors to join its R&D team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of science and innovation. You will work closely with colleagues across R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams to develop customer focused solutions, solve formulation challenges, and support new product development.

Responsibilities
  • Design and execute laboratory experiments to evaluate color performance, stability, and functionality across a range of product applications.
  • Analyze experimental data and prepare technical reports, specifications, and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to support customer projects, troubleshoot formulation challenges, and transfer products from development to manufacturing.
  • Stay current with market trends, ingredient innovations, and advancements in natural color technologies.
  • Support scale up activities, technical presentations, and customer interactions when required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Strong background in food product development, formulation, and R&D.
  • Hands on laboratory experience including experimental design, stability testing, analytical techniques, and accurate record keeping.
  • Understanding of how natural colors perform across different food and beverage matrices and processing conditions.
  • Knowledge of food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements including GMP and HACCP.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to manage multiple technical projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information to both technical and commercial audiences.
