Position SummaryPostdoctoral Positions Available The laboratory of Dr. Guangyong Peng in the Departments of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, Pathology & Immunology at WashU Medicine has an immediate opening for Postdoctoral Associate positions to play an active role in our ongoing studies of tumor immunology, neuroimmunology, and T cell biology. The Peng laboratory has been performing translational studies to dissect molecular mechanisms responsible for the senescence and dysfunction of T cells in the tumor microenvironment from different types of cancers, as well as age-related neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease (AD), and then to develop effective strategies for manipulation of T cell fate and function for disease prevention and immunotherapy.
Highly motivated and passionate researchers with a M.D. or Ph.D. degree and a rigorous training in immunology, cancer biology, or related areas are preferred for the positions. Furthermore, the candidates should have experience with immunology and are comfortable working with mice and/or patient samples. In addition, candidates with research experience with bioinformatics and next-generation sequencing are preferred but not required.
This position is a full-time appointment with all benefits provided by WashU in St. Louis. Salary is according to the NIH standard level.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Assists with grant preparation and reporting.
- Prepares and submits papers on research.
- Assists in the design of research experiments.
- Evaluates research findings and assists in the reporting of the results.
- Conscientious discharge of their research responsibilities.
- Maintains conformity with ethical standards in research.
- Maintains compliance with good laboratory practice including the maintenance of adequate research records.
- Engages in open and timely discussion with their mentor regarding possession or distribution of material, reagents, or records belonging to their laboratory and any proposed disclosure of findings or techniques privately or in publications.
- Collegial conduct towards co-trainees, staff members and members of the research group.
- Adherence to all applicable University policies, procedures and regulations. All data, research records and materials and other intellectual property generated in University laboratories remain the property of the University.
This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.
Salary RangeBase pay is commensurate with experience.
