Midwest Petroleum is a retail petroleum and convenience store chain based in St. Louis, Mo. Since 1946, operating 58 stores within a 150-mile radius, employing approximately 600 employees. The company markets fuel through ZX, Conoco, and Phillips 66 brands.
Primary Purpose of Job: Provide fast and courteous service to all customers. Additional responsibilities include suggestive selling, stocking, cleaning, and practicing proper safety procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Know all company procedures.
- Be familiar with store layout and merchandise.
- Practice proper customer relations at all times.
- Operate all equipment in the store.
- Properly stock inventory.
- Follow all preventive maintenance procedures.
- Follow all State laws for liquor/beer and tobacco.
- Maintain cleanliness inside and outside the store.
- Administer sales transactions: cash, credit card, lotto/lottery, issue money orders.
- Assist with shift coverage (most stores 24 hours).
- Perform other work as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
Preferred:
High school diploma, 1 year of customer service/retail experience.
- Serve customers.
- Front and fill coolers.
- Issue money orders and process credit and lotto transactions.
- Clean and stock shelves, wash windows, sweep and mop floors, carry out garbage.
- Maintain coffee freshness, secure money, keep register under $100, document refunds and voids, complete shift reports.
- Manage vendor check-in/out, gasoline deliveries, and maintain cleanliness of coolers and backroom.
- Price merchandise, rotate stock, ring up sales, practice upselling, maintain a professional appearance.
- Follow laws for liquor, cigarettes, adult magazines, and prevent shoplifting.
- Adaptability, punctuality, effective communication, cooperation, job knowledge, judgment, problem solving, quality focus, concentration.
Walk, stand, bend, reach, lift/push/pull 5-75 pounds, work in various Midwest Petroleum stations. Reasonable accommodations available.
