Funding Specialist

Horner & Shifrin is seeking a full-time Funding Specialist to work in our Water business unit in our St. Louis, MO office. This position requires 4+ years of experience.

• Identify, track and evaluate federal, state and local funding and grant opportunities relevant to water and wastewater projects.
• Support preparation, submission and management of grant and funding applications.
• Administer awarded grants, including compliance tracking, reporting, reimbursement requests and close-out activities.
• Coordinate with project managers, accounting and technical teams to ensure funding requirements are met.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with funding agency requirements.
• Monitor regulatory and funding program changes impacting water infrastructure projects.

• Experience in grant administration, funding management, or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of grant compliance, reporting and documentation requirements.
• Experience working in consulting, engineering, utilities, or public sector environments preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must complete a background check

Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Finance, or related field

Horner & Shifrin, Inc. offers a comprehensive total rewards package and is committed to fair, competitive, market-based compensation. The target salary range for this position is $65,000 to $85,000. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and geographic location.
