Our client company is seeking a talented Territory Manager! Their mission is to help growers and agronomists improve crop performance delivering actionable and detailed crop intelligence that can be used immediately. Customers are able to see, for the first time ever, their emergence, weeds, yield risks, and more mapped out across their entire farming operation and delivered to them in an easy-to-consume app.

About

the Role

The Territory Managers create and develop business with Ag retailers, manufacturers, equipment vendors, and farmers while identifying and capitalizing on new market opportunities. Farmers rely on the Territory Managers to help them interpret and utilize advanced crop intelligence tools to identify yield-limiting factors, address in-season problems, and improve their management practices as trusted advisors. Retail partners rely on the Territory Managers to interpret and leverage the power, analytics, alerts, and actionable insights of their platform to provide better service to their customers, grow their business, and make their lives easier.

Responsibilities
  • Work with a highly versatile set of industry-leading partners, including farmers, seed dealers, ag retailers, and more.
  • Develop strong relationships through a broad spectrum of influential ag personnel.
  • Willing to travel throughout the territory, visiting Ag retailers and growers to explain, demonstrate, and troubleshoot our products.
  • Grow the business within the territory while maintaining our partnership with existing customers.
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen, learning agility, and understanding of the ag business.
  • Develop and execute assigned specific sales strategies and plans to maximize sales volume and profitability in accordance with the organization's financial plan and brand strategies.
  • Develop and execute multi-faceted customer relationship strategies for related market responsibility.
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking and leadership to achieve desired results.
  • Gain a solid understanding of our technology platforms and articulate what the best customer solutions are based on their unique needs.
  • Effectively communicate that message to customers through the ag retail channel partners.
  • Work in an unrestricted, self-starter environment that encourages creative thinking and initiative.
  • Contribute directly to the expansion of a leading ag tech business.
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to all customers and serve as a single point of contact for their immediate and ongoing needs.
  • This also includes answering existing and potential customer/client requests for inquiries in the process of purchasing our solutions.
  • Have a solid understanding of the marketplace, related crops, farm operations, and ag retailers and can quickly get enough depth of knowledge based on customers' identified needs to effectively align our products and services to negotiate the best agreement in conjunction with the retail network.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Ag related field or related agricultural industry sales or crop advising experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the agricultural industry.
  • Aptitude in mobile apps and new technology (3-5 years selling technology preferred).
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple key tasks.
  • Must be willing to live and travel in the territory’s accessible area.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Specific job assignments may require day, evening, weekend, or holiday hours and overnight travel.
  • Valid Driver's License, reliable transportation, and valid insurance.
  • Experience using support CRM system such as Salesforce or related platforms for account management.
