Position Overview
The Insurance Sales Representative is primarily responsible for driving new business growth while expanding and strengthening client relationships and promoting The Bar Plan's full suite of insurance products and services. This role serves as a key ambassador for the organization through proactive outreach, strategic networking, consultative sales efforts, client engagement, and participation in conferences and events throughout our service territory.
The ideal candidate has prior insurance industry experience, strong relationship‑building skills, and a passion for helping professionals protect their businesses and practices. This position requires a self‑starter who can work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams to deliver exceptional service and support business growth.
This position requires attendance at approximately 75% of company conferences, events, and related engagements, along with active participation in networking opportunities throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients through phone, email, virtual meetings, and in‑person visits.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to support company growth objectives.
- Educate attorneys and law firms on available insurance products and services.
- Conduct proactive outreach regarding policy renewals, coverage options, and new products and services.
- Attend and represent The Bar Plan at conferences, bar association meetings, and other industry events.
- Participate in networking opportunities to increase brand awareness and generate qualified leads.
- Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and other internal teams to ensure a seamless client experience.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, opportunities, and sales activities within the CRM system.
- Monitor sales pipelines and follow up on leads to ensure timely communication and exceptional service.
- Support client retention efforts through relationship management, consistent follow‑up, and proactive service.
- Develop a thorough understanding of The Bar Plan's insurance, surety, and risk‑management offerings.
- Stay informed of industry trends, insurance products, and regulatory developments affecting attorneys and law firms.
- Adhere to compliance, regulatory requirements, and company standards in all interactions.
- Provide support for special marketing initiatives, educational programs, and strategic business development efforts as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Insurance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Professional Liability Experience a Plus
- Active Property & Casualty License preferred, or willingness to obtain and maintain licensure as required.
- Proven experience in sales, business development, account management, or client relationship management.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and follow‑up skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team environment.

Salary: $65,000–$85,000 annually (based on experience)
This is a salary‑based position and is not commission‑driven.
