Role Description The Sales Associate role at TQL is a full-time, on-site position based in St Louis, MO. In this role, the Sales Associate will prospect and build relationships with new and existing customers, learning their freight needs and identifying solutions using TQL’s carrier network. Daily responsibilities include making outbound calls, following up on leads, negotiating rates, and coordinating shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
The Sales Associate will monitor active loads, communicate status updates, and resolve service issues in collaboration with operations and support teams. This position requires consistent pipeline management, accurate data entry into TQL systems, and active participation in team meetings and training to develop sales and logistics expertise.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability in customer service, relationship-building, and client communication.
- Strong sales aptitude, including prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills.
- Effective time management, organization, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort with making high volumes of calls and working toward performance-based goals.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and the ability to learn logistics software.
- Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work closely with internal teams and external partners.
- Resilience, adaptability, and problem-solving skills when handling service issues or unexpected changes.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Communications, or related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in sales, logistics, or transportation is beneficial but not required; comprehensive training is provided.
