- Develop and execute Hager's business development strategy for the data center vertical, as well as relevant critical infrastructure verticals, across North America.
- Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with data center owners, developers, engineering firms, architects, design consultants, general contractors, and other key project stakeholders.
- Drive specification influence by engaging architects, specification writers, consultants, and engineering firms early in project development.
- Partner with Hager's product managers, marketing leads, regional sales managers, specification consultants, architectural consultants, distributors, and manufacturer representatives to identify and advance project opportunities.
- Develop account plans for targeted national and regional customers and lead initiatives to grow market share.
- Track emerging projects and industry trends to proactively identify opportunities within data center construction and related markets.
- Monitor adjacent growth markets including battery production, advanced manufacturing, and other critical tech facilities where Hager solutions align.
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert on the data center market by sharing competitive intelligence, customer insights, market trends, and project activity.
- Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to communicate market needs and customer feedback that support future product development.
- Work closely with Marketing to develop targeted messaging, presentations, sales tools, case studies, digital content, and campaign strategies supporting the data center and critical infrastructure verticals.
- Represent Hager at industry conferences, trade shows, association meetings, and customer events to strengthen brand awareness and develop strategic relationships.
- Maintain accurate project information, customer interactions, and opportunity pipelines within the company's system.
- Deliver regular business updates, pipeline forecasts, market intelligence, and strategic recommendations to leadership.
- Support company initiatives while demonstrating Hager's values of integrity, collaboration, innovation, and customer commitment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Knowledge: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum three years’ experience in business development, strategic sales, specification development, or account management within the commercial construction, architectural hardware, building products, security, or related industries. Experience working with architects, engineers, contractors, developers, owners, and distribution partners preferred. Experience with in the data center or technology infrastructure markets is highly desirable.
Skills: Proficient with ERP systems, Excel and other Microsoft Office Products. Demonstrated ability to build executive-level relationships and influence decision-makers throughout complex project life cycles. Strong understanding of commercial construction processes and specification-driven selling. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and project management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating across cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify market trends and translate insights into growth strategies.
Physical Requirements: Normal office environment which requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and see. May involve the ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects of up to 50 pounds to transport and present product samples. Willingness to travel 50% or more throughout North America or internationally as needed.
