Job Description
We are actively seeking a highly motivated Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental Remediation group in St. Louis, MO. The successful candidate will work under the oversight of an experienced team of engineers and scientists on environmental site assessments, remedial and solid waste design and construction, and environmental support on multi‑disciplinary projects. This position will involve field and office responsibilities with potential for growth.
Responsibilities- Perform standard scientific work requiring application of techniques and procedures.
- Detect problems when using standardized procedures due to sample condition, equipment difficulties, etc.
- Conduct specific project phases for more experienced scientists.
- Propose appropriate analytical methods and techniques. Assist in providing advice and consulting services within scope of scientific knowledge.
- Draw conclusions and make recommendations based on analysis.
- Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
- Work under general supervision.
- Flexible with extended hours and locations; travel may be greater than 50% of the time. Must be able to do day travel regionally.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences or engineering or other related fields, AND at least 2+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education.
- Valid driver's license.
- Subject to pre‑employment background check.
- US Citizenship or permanent resident required; sponsorship not available for this role now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred.
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors in sometimes challenging conditions.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable liaising with clients, colleagues and sub‑contractors alike.
- Willingness and ability to learn and rapidly master new tasks.
- Scientific research and report writing (including web‑based research).
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Strong quality and time management.
- Self‑starter, develops and delivers work under own initiative.
- Solid attention to detail and thorough approach to work.
- Seeking professional certifications.
- 40‑hr OSHA HAZWOPER certificate.
- Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, GIS applications.
