Public Safety Officer

Responsibilities

Provide fire, safety, and security protection for Mercy’s coworkers, patients, and visitors.
Promote and practice fire and safety prevention.
Perform all duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our Mission, Values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Education:

• High School Diploma
• 18 years of age or older

Licensure:

• Valid State driver's license
• Valid local, state, or federal Public Safety/Security licensure as required (within 90 days of hire)

Experience:

Certification/Registration:

• Complete Basic 16hr Public Safety/Security course within 180 days of hire (may be done as part of licensure)
• Federal, State, and Municipal licensure allowable time frames will have precedence over internally established time frames for IAHSS certification.

Other Skills and Knowledge:

• Ability to read and write the English language

• Valid local, state or federal Public Safety/Security licensure as required.

• Previous Security, Military or Law Enforcement experience
