Job Summary
The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of employees, property, information, and the reputation of the Par Health St. Louis Plant Site.
Essential Functions- Prevent diversion of Schedule I–V pharmaceutical‑grade narcotics and list one precursor chemical.
- Protect DEA registration by following applicable DEA rules and regulations.
- Handle sensitive information related to company property, employees, incidents, and investigations.
- Participate in emergency responses (chemical, medical, fire, weather).
- Act as point of contact and coordinate with Police and Fire Departments during emergencies.
- Issue visitor/contractor badges and ensure authorized entry.
- Control plant access and property for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Secure plant property and parking areas via patrol and surveillance.
- Monitor alarm systems and control entry to lab areas, gates, security doors, parking lots, labs.
- Control access of all persons and materials, including hazardous chemical and mechanical items.
- Respond to hazardous material spills, injuries, and conduct emergency response.
- Investigate criminal activity, sabotage, and industrial terrorism.
- Maintain continuing education in industrial security standards, workplace violence, and firearms training.
- Enforce company policy and applicable state laws, including use of force.
- Approved Armed & Licensed Security Officer/Courier by Watchmen’s Division of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
- 5–10 years of law enforcement experience.
- Experience in observation, verbal and written communication, investigation, de‑escalation, and negotiation.
- Certified graduate of an accredited law enforcement academy.
- Excellent written reporting skills.
Security Officers report directly to the Security Supervisor and the Head of Global Security.
Working ConditionsHourly rate $35.03 per the CBA. 12‑hour shifts rotating days and nights on a 4‑day rotation. Overtime may be required. Must wear PPE including steel‑toed shoes, safety glasses, earplugs, and other equipment as necessary.
