Public Safety Officer ; Evenings

Responsibilities

Provide fire, safety, and security protection for Mercy's coworkers, patients, and visitors. Promote and practice fire and safety prevention. Perform all duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Mercy's Mission, Values, and Service Standards.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma, 18 years of age or older
• Licensure:
  Valid state driver's license;
  Valid local, state or federal Public Safety/Security licensure (within 30 days of hire)
• Experience:
  
  Passing score on Functional Job Screening
• Certification/Registration:
  Complete Basic 16‑hour Public Safety/Security course within 90 days of hire (may be done as part of licensure)
• Other Skills and Knowledge:
  Ability to read and write the English language

Preferred Qualifications

• Education:
  
  College degree
• Licensure:
  Valid local, state or federal Public Safety/Security licensure (within 30 days of hire)
• Experience:
  
  Previous Security, Military or Law Enforcement experience
