This position is responsible for repairs and facility preventative maintenance. The core position performs a variety of maintenance duties including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC and grounds keeping and any related tasks as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities and Duties- Performs minor fixes, repairs, preventative maintenance and renovations. Areas of responsibility include plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and HVAC
- Maintains grounds, including mowing and yard upkeep
- Clears snow from parking lots, entrances and walkways
- Conducts and documents routine inspections of premises and equipment
- Handles basic repairs, maintenance and renovations. Areas of responsibility include plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and HVAC
- Oversees contractors when necessary
- Diagnoses mechanical issues and corrects them
- Repairs machines, equipment, and structures as necessary
- Picks up and delivers supplies and materials as needed
- Adheres to all relevant policies and procedures of the organization
- Performs and documents scheduled inspections of the entire facility
- Reports to maintenance manager regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience or knowledge, skills, and ability equivalent;
Any other combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired skills, knowledge or abilities may be considered - Experience as a maintenance worker or other similar position preferred
- Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools
- Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts
- Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary
- Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches
- Physically able to push equipment used in the maintenance department
- Physically able to reach, stretch, bend, and walk during daily routine, with the ability to stand for long lengths of time
- Previous experience working in related field preferred; training will be provided
- Valid driver’s license and appropriate liability insurance. Positions in this classification may be required to travel and work at multiple sites on a regular basis
- EPA Universal Technician (40 CFR 82 Subpart F (HVAC) certification preferred
- First Aid / CPR / AED certification completed within probationary period and maintained throughout employment
