Position SummaryPerform routine systems checks and emergency maintenance as dispatched by public safety and supervisors. Will be responsible for all building‑related problems while also ensuring the operations of HVAC systems.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities HVAC System Monitoring and Inspection- Inspect building HVAC systems for proper operation and record relevant data in the rounds logbooks.
- Must have the ability to troubleshoot and repair the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning systems within a multi‑building complex. Duties include an in‑depth understanding of the principles and operation of the heating and cooling systems.
- Must be able to make repairs (brazing), reclaim refrigerants, and recharge units as needed.
- Ability to use computer software and Building Automation Systems to adjust settings for both comfort and energy saving settings.
- Diagnose and Repair and service of boilers both steam and water.
- Record and document equipment data based on equipment surveys.
- This position is oriented towards customer service. The successful candidate must be able to prioritize workloads for appropriate response times to service requests.
- Assess issues and determine when escalation or specialized support is needed.
- The candidate must be able to recognize when additional resources are needed, and how to request additional support.
- Require standing, bending, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working on ladders or at heights.
- Work may occur indoors and outdoors, in varying weather and temperature conditions.
- Exposure to pool chemicals, noise, and mechanical equipment is expected.
- May be required to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or on‑call shifts for emergencies.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class E driver's license (or equivalent from another state).
- Must be available 24/7 for emergencies and willing to work overtime.
Technical training or certification in HVAC maintenance, commercial/residential installation, or related fields preferred.
Five or more years of experience maintaining electrical systems in a commercial or institutional environment, with knowledge of a variety of heating and cooling system types.
Position requires a background check and other applicable pre‑employment checks.
