Field Operations Specialist

The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, the leading champion of empowerment and opportunity for individuals throughout the region in securing economic self-reliance, social equality, and civil rights, is seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for helping others to work as a Field Operations Specialist.

The Field Operations Specialist supports on-site disaster recovery efforts, performing demolition, debris management, material salvage, and equipment operation while ensuring strict adherence to OSHA and environmental safety standards. This role works as part of a field operations team in partnership with employer partners within disaster impacted areas.

• Set up safety barriers, dust control measures, and exclusion zones.
• Perform structural dismantling (buildings, roofs, and fixtures) using hand/power tools and heavy machinery (excavators, bulldozers).
• Load, sort, salvage, and properly dispose of debris and hazardous materials.
• Operate machinery and conduct daily equipment inspections.
• Following all local, state, and federal safety regulations.
• Collaborating with supervisors and field crews support and guide equipment operators.
• Identify site risks and operational impacts, report findings to the Field Operations Coordinator.
• Document recovery activities, prepare reports, and create work orders for repairs.
• Other duties assigned.
