TheImpact You'll Make
As a Public Safety Technician, you’ll be the go-to expert for installing, diagnosing, and repairing advanced electrical systems in emergency vehicles. Your expertise with automotive electrical systems and Whelen products will help keep critical fleets operational, visible, and reliable—making a tangible difference in the safety of our community.
What You'll Do- Install, troubleshoot, and repair automotive electrical systems in police, fire, and EMS vehicles.
- Configure, mount, and integrate Whelen lighting, siren, and control systems to meet agency specifications.
- Perform diagnostics using multimeters, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer software tools.
- Collaborate with fleet managers and public safety officials to ensure vehicles meet operational and compliance standards.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work performed.
- Stay current on new Whelen product lines, installation techniques, and safety protocols.
- Proven experience in automotive electrical systems, including wiring, relays, and control modules.
- Hands‑on knowledge of Whelen products—installation, programming, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail under tight deadlines.
- A commitment to quality workmanship and safety.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work on‑site in a shop or field environment.
