Boiler & Facilities Technician
Full Time Technical – Saint Louis, MO, US
Responsibilities- Perform frequent inspection checks and routine maintenance on boiler systems, valves, gauges, piping, and related equipment.
- Inspect water, gas, and other fluid levels inside boilers and make adjustments to maintain peak operating conditions.
- Repair and address concerns with piping, valves, and boiler machinery as needed.
- Conduct hourly audits of gas readings, feed water tests, water softener systems, and other inspections as required.
- Maintain clean and organized mechanical rooms, facilities, and work areas.
- Maintain industrial air compressor systems through hourly inspections and adjustments.
- Safely operate a wide variety of power tools and hand tools.
- Perform all activities safely and report safety concerns immediately.
- Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required or assigned.
- Complete work orders, document root‑cause analysis, detailed PM information, time spent, and parts used in a computerized management system.
- Communicate status of work orders to Maintenance and Production teams through regular updates.
- Act as liaison with outside maintenance vendors, ensuring proper maintenance of boiler and related equipment.
- Ensure vendors/guests are signed in and following company policies and procedures.
- Communicate concerns or failures to outside service entities, acting as a point of contact to resolve issues quickly and safely.
- Follow company policies and industry regulations, including Safety, OSHA, USDA, SQF, and GMP regulations.
- Work autonomously with available assistance and seek additional training to become a subject matter expert.
- Assist with keeping the area clean and orderly.
- Other duties as assigned.
- City boiler certification required (support provided to obtain certification if not held).
- Associate’s degree preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or GED with 2–3 years of practical experience working with industrial boilers.
- High level of mechanical skills and aptitude in electrical troubleshooting (high and low voltage), utilities (domestic water, natural gas, HVAC, compressed air), instrumentation/HMI systems, and general facilities maintenance.
- Ability to excel in a team environment.
- Self‑motivated, good organizational and detail‑oriented skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer skills required with basic understanding of Google Office and use of the Red Zone application; training provided.
- Positive, winning attitude with a team‑first focus.
