We're looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined Heavy-Duty Scale Technician to join our St. Louis team. If you enjoy working with your hands, solving technical problems, and building relationships with customers, we'd love to hear from you.

Position Summary As a Heavy-Duty Scale Technician, you'll install, inspect, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain truck scales and industrial weighing equipment at customer locations throughout the St. Louis region. This position combines mechanical, electrical, and customer service skills in a hands-on field environment. You'll work independently while representing Precision Scale Company with professionalism and integrity, ensuring customers receive accurate, reliable weighing systems that meet regulatory standards.

What You'll Do Install, calibrate, inspect, maintain, and repair truck scales and industrial weighing systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software-related issues. Perform preventative maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime. Conduct calibrations using certified test weights and specialized testing equipment. Ensure all weighing systems comply with applicable industry standards and regulations. Complete accurate service reports, calibration certificates, and maintenance documentation.

Communicate repair recommendations and technical information clearly with customers. Safely operate company vehicles, forklifts, skid steers, lifting equipment, and other job-site machinery. Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicle. Follow all OSHA, DOT, and company safety procedures. Travel throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area and surrounding regions to support customer service needs. Participate in occasional after-hours or weekend service calls as needed.

Qualifications Required Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Current CDL (Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement), or willingness and ability to obtain one. Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 100 pounds.

Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and industrial environments. Willingness to travel regionally with occasional overnight stays. Basic computer skills for service documentation and reporting.

Preferred Experience servicing industrial scales or weighing equipment. Industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or field service experience. Knowledge of NIST Handbook 44 and commercial weighing regulations. Experience operating forklifts, skid steers, cranes, or other heavy equipment. Experience with welding, fabrication, or industrial electrical systems.
