Maintenance Mechanic
Kelly Services is currently hiring a Maintenance Mechanic for a leading food manufacturing facility in Affton, Missouri. This temp-to-hire opportunity offers competitive pay, a consistent rotating schedule, and long-term career potential with a growing maintenance team.

Shift: 6:30 p.m.–7:00 a.m. 12-hour shifts. Rotating Two-Week
Schedule:
- Week 1:
Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday - Week 2:
Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production machinery and facility equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. This hands-on position focuses on preventive maintenance, mechanical repairs, equipment installations, and minimizing production downtime within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance on production machinery and facility equipment.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment to minimize downtime.
- Repair and replace components such as bearings, belts, chains, gears, motors, pumps, conveyors, and mechanical drive systems.
- Troubleshoot basic electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Respond promptly to production equipment breakdowns and maintenance requests.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, modifications, and improvement projects.
- Perform root-cause analysis to identify and prevent recurring equipment problems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, equipment schematics, and technical manuals.
- Complete work orders and required maintenance documentation accurately.
- Perform welding and fabrication work as needed.
- Support facility equipment and utility systems when required.
- Follow all food safety, HACCP, GMP, lockout/tagout, and company safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Adapt to changing production and maintenance priorities while working independently or as part of a team.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous industrial maintenance or maintenance mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Working knowledge of mechanical power transmission systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Basic math skills and the ability to complete maintenance documentation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with production and maintenance teams.
- Ability to work 12-hour overnight shifts on a rotating schedule.
- Previous maintenance experience in food manufacturing.
- Technical school training, certification, or degree in industrial maintenance or a related field.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Experience maintaining conveyors and other production machinery.
- Experience with facility utilities and support equipment.
- Refrigeration or ammonia refrigeration experience.
- Two-year technical degree in an industrial maintenance-related field.
- Extensive industrial maintenance experience.
