This position will work primarily out of our St. Joseph, MO location, supporting customers throughout the St. Joseph and Kansas City area

Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical power, control, automation, and instrumentation systems.
- Troubleshoot 24
VDC, 120
VAC, and 480
VAC electrical control systems. - Program, modify, and maintain PLC, HMI, SCADA, and industrial automation systems.
- Perform startup, commissioning, testing, and validation of electrical and control systems.
- Troubleshoot and support AC/DC drives, safety controls, motor controls, and overall electrical power and control systems.
- Install, configure, and calibrate instrumentation, sensors, transmitters, and related control devices.
- Review, update, and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, control narratives, and system documentation.
- Conduct field investigations and provide technical solutions to improve system performance, reliability, and safety.
- Support electrical construction, maintenance, and service projects with technical troubleshooting and field support.
- Work directly with customers, project managers, engineers, and electricians to identify project needs and resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, system changes, testing results, and project documentation.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, company policies, and customer requirements.
What You'LL Do:
All team members contribute to the overall success of R/S Electric. In addition to controls and troubleshooting work, this position may be required to:
- Respond to service calls and troubleshooting requests as needed.
- Travel to customer sites throughout the St. Joseph, Kansas City, and surrounding service areas. Some weekly travel may be required.
- Assist with system design reviews, equipment selection, and project planning.
- Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and project leadership.
- Support field crews with technical guidance and problem-solving.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment.
- Perform other duties necessary to support project completion and customer needs.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of extensive electrical controls troubleshooting experience required.
- Strong knowledge of 24
VDC, 120
VAC, and 480
VAC systems required. - Experience troubleshooting and/or designing PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, safety controls, electrical power/control systems, and AC/DC drives.
- Electric motor troubleshooting experience preferred.
- Instrumentation setup and calibration experience preferred.
- Experience with industrial automation software strongly preferred, including Factory Talk View ME/SE, Factory Talk Studio, RSLogix 5000, RSLogix 5, RSLogix 500, RSLinx, RSNetWorx, AutoCAD, iFix, Wonderware/InTouch, System Platform, Windows operating systems, and VM environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read, follow, and interpret instructions, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Positive attitude, dependable work ethic, and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work a flexible or irregular schedule when needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification or associate degree from an accredited technical school preferred.
