Senior Mechanic​/Technician

Waste Management (WM) seeks a Senior Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair a variety of heavy-duty waste collection vehicles and equipment. In this skilled labor role, you will perform advanced diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and complex repairs on hydraulics, diesel engines, electrical systems, and onboard electronics. You'll mentor junior technicians, support safety and environmental compliance, and keep accurate service records. Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems for waste collection vehicles and equipment
• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections to maximize fleet safety and uptime
• Troubleshoot and repair onboard electronics, braking systems, and related components
• Lead, mentor, and train junior mechanics/technicians on proper repair and safety practices
• Ensure all work complies with WM safety standards, environmental regulations, and OEM specifications
• Maintain accurate repair orders, parts usage, and maintenance records in fleet systems
• Collaborate with operations to prioritize repairs and minimize service disruptions
• Operate shop tools, diagnostic equipment, and lifting devices safely and efficiently
