Industrial Electrician

At Intramotev, we are dedicated to revolutionizing the freight industry by liberating tons of freight from congested highways, reducing carbon emissions, and enhancing transportation efficiency. We are deploying self-propelled battery-electric railcars and vehicles to transform freight logistics and bring innovation to our rail network. Based in St. Louis, MO, we are committed to promoting industrial revitalization, saving lives, and minimizing the environmental impact of trucking/transportation.

We actively foster a work environment for every teammate that's welcoming, respectful and inclusive, with great opportunities for professional growth. Find your future with us.

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to build and wire the industrial control panels and cabinets that run Intramotev's self-propelled battery-electric railcars and vehicles and the test equipment behind them. The center of gravity for this role is in-shop panel and cabinet build-to-print — assembling backplanes to layout drawings; wiring relay-logic, contactor, and motor-starter control circuits to electrical schematics and wire run lists;

terminating terminal blocks; and function-testing finished panels against the print — with occasional on-site install, commissioning, and troubleshooting support as a secondary duty. This role builds and wires to print; controls engineering owns the logic, so the work does not involve PLC programming. You'll work as a hands-on, mid-level technician on the shop floor within our Engineering/Manufacturing organization. This is a full-time, 100% in-office role based in St.

Louis, MO. You'll work with in a team of 3–10 engineers and technicians and engage in occasional domestic travel (roughly 10%) to support those field activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Panel & Cabinet Build:
Assemble control-panel and cabinet backplanes to panel layout and general-arrangement drawings, mounting DIN-rail breakers, ice-cube relays, contractors, motor starters, and terminal blocks per the print.
  • Control Wiring:
Wire relay-logic, contactor, and motor-starter control circuits to electrical schematics and wire run lists, with crimped ferrules, labeled conductors, and clean wire-duct dress.
  • Termination & Dress:
Terminate terminal blocks and field connections, route and lace control wiring, and finish each panel to UL 508A-style workmanship standards.
  • Continuity & Function Test:
Verify finished panels with continuity, point-to-point, and function checks against the print, confirming every circuit matches the schematic before the panel ships.
  • Install & Commissioning Support:
Provide occasional on-site install, commissioning, and troubleshooting support for fielded panels at customer sites.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with controls and production engineering to provide feedback on panel layout, wire routing, and manufacturability.
  • Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of as-built wiring, redlines, and panel modifications.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly pay: $26–$32 per hour (full-time, non-exempt)

Intramotev offers a comprehensive benefits package for all team members, including:

  • Medical coverage:
We cover 100% of employee medical premiums, plus low-cost dental and vision options.
  • Vacation:
Hourly employees accrue paid time off and receive paid company holidays.
  • Parental leave:
New parents receive paid time off to spend quality time with their family.
