The Stage Services Assistant provides operational and technical support for performances, events, and venue activities by assisting with the setup, operation, and teardown of staging, seating, audio, lighting, video, and other event-related equipment.
[Event Setup] - 25%
- Under specific direction, safely and efficiently place equipment (sound equipment, lighting equipment, other performance support items) on, around, or near stage or event spaces.
- Load and/or unload items and equipment from semi-/box trucks, client vehicles as necessary.
- Safely stage equipment in preparation for use as necessary.
[Reception Setup] - 25%
- Under supervision, safely set up portable staging, seating, and tables to match client requests.
[Direct Event Support] - 20%
- Under specific direction, safely operate or handle theatrical equipment as required in support of an event; equipment may be staging, audio, lighting, or video equipment; specific training and/or Touhill qualification may be required to be authorized to operate/handle certain equipment.
[Teardown and Load-out Support] - 25%
- Under supervision, remove portable staging, seating, tables, or other theater or stage equipment that was previously utilized; return items to specified storage locations.
- Organize areas that were utilized in preparation for subsequent events.
[Training] - 5%
- Complete University-mandated training as required.
- Complete Touhill-specific training (and/or Touhill qualification(s)) as required.
As with all positions, may perform other job-related responsibilities as needed to support departmental and campus-wide needs.

Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent and some work experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications- Ability to transport objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to work long and unusual hours, including late at night.
- Willingness to work hard and take direction.
- Experience and comfort with working at heights in elevated positions.
- Experience in event or theatrical setup and production (any area of emphasis).
- An understanding of theatrical terminology, equipment, and usages.
- Good communication skills and customer service experience is recommended.
$19.50-$25.00
