HVAC Apprentice

Air Comfort Service is hiring HVAC Apprentices — we’re looking for anyone with a genuine interest in HVAC as a career, whether you’re coming out of trade school, currently enrolled, or just looking to get started in the trade. This isn’t “figure it out as you go.” You’ll work alongside experienced techs from day one, building real hands‑on skills through a structured training path.

Depending on our needs and your strengths, apprentices may be placed into Install, Residential Service, or Commercial tracks.

Don’t expect what you don’t teach and inspect — that’s how we train. Every stage of this program comes with structured teaching and a checkpoint to confirm it stuck, so you always know where you stand and what’s next.

Days 0–90 (Install Foundation):
Work as part of our install team, building core skills in tools, electrical, refrigeration, heating equipment, and airflow — including dedicated proficiency check-offs in brazing/soldering, low voltage wiring, thermostats, and cooling & heating cycle of operation.

Weeks 1–12 (Residential Service Ramp‑Up):
For apprentices placed on the Residential Service track, after a formal 90‑day handoff you’ll rotate through a 6‑week ride‑along with three different lead technicians, then move through manager‑led supervised solo calls, to full independent solo clearance — running real diagnostic and repair calls on both cooling and heating systems.

Along the way, you’ll get regular, structured feedback — 30/60/90‑day assessments during Install, and check‑ins throughout Residential Service — so you always know exactly how you’re progressing.

• A genuine interest in building a career in HVAC — trade school experience is a plus, but not required
• EPA Type 2 certification required prior to your first day
• Valid driver’s license;
  Missouri‑licensed drivers must have a Class E endorsement
• Clean and clear driving record
• Must pass a background check, drug screening, and physical
• Reliable, coachable, and willing to learn in the field
• Comfortable with physical work: ladders, attics, crawlspaces, and being on your feet all day

• Hands‑on mentorship from experienced techs, with exposure to multiple diagnostic styles once on the Residential Service track
• Standardized proficiency sign‑offs so you always know what’s expected and how you’re doing
