Client Service Coordinator I (Office of Violence Prevention)

- Conduct intakes for new clients, including interviews to gather information and assess needs.
- Perform warm handoffs of clients to community service providers.
- Build home plans and goals for clients.
- Perform follow‑up casework and conduct site visits.
- Represent OVP at meetings and events.
- Participate in community outreach efforts.
- Act as liaison/advocate between clients and government/community service providers.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Organization and project management.
- Knowledge of data analysis, reporting, and budgeting.
- Time management and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
- Mid‑level data analysis: audit, deduce, assess, conclude, and appraise; determine and reference established criteria to define consequences and develop alternatives.
- Paraprofessional‑level counseling in semi‑specialized areas.
- Equipment and tools use: operate and monitor computers, fax, and copy machines.
- Verbal aptitude: utilize advisory data and information such as letters of incarceration, legal pleas, medical referrals, intake materials, statutes, procedures, guidelines, and non‑routine correspondence.
- Mathematical aptitude: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Functional reasoning: apply principles of influence systems, supervision, managing, leading, teaching, directing, planning, coordinating, controlling; exercise independent judgment to develop approaches and techniques for problem resolution.
- Situational reasoning: exercise judgment, decisiveness, and creativity when evaluating information against subjective criteria.
- Environmental factors: risk exposure to adverse conditions such as violence or disease.
- Physical requirements:
ability to exert light physical effort, lift 20–50 lbs, extended periods of visual concentration at keyboard or workstation. - Sensory requirements: recognize and identify similarities/differences among colors, shapes, sounds, tastes, odors, and textures associated with job‑related tasks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Criminal Justice, or related social science OR four years of experience in social service programs or case management OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Two years of experience in social service programs or case management OR experience with Salesforce platform.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license; proof required at application.
- Veteran’s preference: applicant must submit DD‑214 certificate of release or discharge or alternate documentation.
- City residence preference: city residents with at least one year residency receive five points; an additional one point for those who also receive other preference.
