Educational Support Counselor, St. Peters, St. Charles
Educational Support Counselor needed for temporary, full-time work in the St. Peters/St. Charles area. The ESC provides counseling services, crisis intervention, and social-emotional support to at-risk students and their families. This role collaborates with school staff, administration, and external agencies to develop effective intervention strategies and foster student success in academics, attendance, and personal well-being. Primary responsibilities include: performing psychosocial assessments and responding immediately to student crisis situations to ensure safety and regulatory compliance, delivering individual and group counseling sessions tailored to student needs and monitoring progress toward social-emotional goals, working with parents, teachers, and community mental health professionals to coordinate care and link families with external resources, maintaining accurate case files, progress reports, activity logs, and administrative documentation, and attending IEPs, team meetings, and parent conferences to present evaluation findings and recommend support strategies.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work and LCSW required, experience in schools and/or with children preferred.
