Senior Cloud Software Engineer

Hybrid Work Structure:
Downtown St Louis

Long term contract with the potential to extend/convert into a FT employee

• Design, develop, test, debug, and implement software applications, system components, and cloud-based solutions
• Support multiple modules and services across enterprise platforms and integration environments
• Enhance existing applications and contribute to the development of new software products and services
• Implement and test moderately complex code changes to resolve defects and improve system performance
• Configure and deploy new technologies and cloud-based components
• Troubleshoot and resolve application and system issues within assigned components
• Assist with production monitoring, incident resolution, and technical escalations
• Review requirements and evaluate alternative technical approaches to determine optimal solutions
• Participate in Agile development practices including sprint planning, peer programming, and test-driven development
• Work with business analysts to translate functional requirements into API-led and integration-based solutions
• Design and build integrations, interfaces, shared services, and reusable components using industry best practices
• Document system designs, testing results, operating procedures, and support processes
• Support deployments, upgrades, and system implementations, including occasional off-hours work as needed

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• 5+ years of experience working with modern cloud and Dev Ops technologies such as AWS, Azure, Terraform, Docker, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Splunk, or similar tools
• Equivalent experience (9+ years) may be considered in place of a formal degree
• Cloud certification such as ASW or similar (preferred but not required)
• Software development experience in cloud and/or enterprise environments
• Proficiency with infrastructure as code
• Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Expertise with Git or Bitbucket
• Knowledge of secure coding and automated testing
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Experience developing, testing, and debugging moderately complex code
• Experience supporting cloud-based and on-premise systems
• Ability to design and build APIs, integrations, and shared services
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
• Experience with monitoring, alerting, and dependency tracking tools
• Knowledge of advanced networking concepts
• Experience with dashboarding and data visualization tools
• Experience with API-led connectivity or integration platforms
• Experience with test-driven development and peer programming
• Ability to translate technical concepts into executive-level communication
• Passion for mentoring or teaching technical topics
