Location: St Louis

Our Client is looking for a Senior Java Engineer. Candidates must be local to St. Louis and have the ability to work in the office at least 2 days a week.

1. Summary

The role involves developing and supporting customer-facing web applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Oracle SQL. It requires creating new features and maintaining existing systems with a focus on backend server-side development, integrating with front-end technologies like Angular or React in a collaborative environment.

2. Required Skills and Experience
  • Java:
    At least 6 years of server-side web development experience, with a focus on delivering scalable, production-quality Java applications.
  • Spring Framework:
    Minimum 3 years of experience working extensively with Spring, particularly Spring JPA and Spring Security, for building secure and data-driven services.
  • Java Container Frameworks:
    Proven experience with containerization and application servers such as Tomcat or similar.
  • Testing Frameworks:
    Hands-on experience with unit testing using frameworks like JUnit and Mockito to ensure code quality.
  • Oracle SQL and Relational Databases:
    Strong analytical skills with proven experience in designing, querying, and troubleshooting Oracle database systems.
  • Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:
    Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions during development and support phases.
3. Desired Skills and Experience
  • Hibernate ORM:
    Experience with Java database frameworks such as Hibernate or JPA for data persistence.
  • Dev Ops and CI/CD Tools:
    Knowledge of Jenkins for continuous integration and deployment.

  • Collaborative yet autonomous team environment, emphasizing proactive communication and accountability.
  • Agile development pace with a mix of new projects and ongoing support activities, requiring adaptability and problem-solving agility.
