Oracle Xstore Developer

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Xstore Developer to join a long-term engagement based in St. Louis, Missouri. In this role, you will design, develop, and support POS applications within a large-scale retail environment, working alongside client engineers, business analysts, and vendor partners. You will own the full development lifecycle—from requirements and design through coding, testing, deployment, and L3 production support.

• Design, develop, and enhance Oracle Xstore POS applications, ensuring adherence to coding standards and architectural guidelines.
• Perform root cause analysis of production incidents and deliver timely resolutions within established SLA windows.
• Conduct thorough log analysis and troubleshooting to diagnose complex POS system issues.
• Develop and maintain API integrations (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML) with third-party and internal enterprise systems.
• Drive major and minor enhancement cycles from technical design through QA sign-off and production deployment.
• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies: sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines and code repositories using tools such as Git, SVN, Maven, Gradle, and Jenkins.
• Produce clean, well-documented code with a focus on unit testing and code-review best practices.

• 8–10 years of total software development experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Retail POS, Oracle Xstore POS, or GK POS (L3 support experience is mandatory).
• Deep expertise in Java and Spring Boot; strong SQL skills for data analysis and troubleshooting.
• Solid command of Object-Oriented Programming and SOLID design principles.
• Proven experience with REST and SOAP API design and integration; proficiency with XML and JSON.
• Strong systems analysis, architecture fundamentals, unit testing, and end-to-end SDLC knowledge.
• Working knowledge of the Spring framework (Core, MVC, Data).
• Version control proficiency:
  Git and/or SVN.
• Experience with developer tooling:
  Eclipse, Bugzilla, Jenkins, Git Lab.
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Clear, professional communication skills; comfortable engaging business stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
• Agile/Scrum methodology knowledge and practical experience.

• Experience in a telecom or cable retail environment.
• Familiarity with Oracle Retail suite beyond Xstore (e.g., OMS, ORMS).
• Exposure to cloud infrastructure or containerized deployments (AWS, Azure, Docker).
