We’re growing our team and are looking for an experienced, responsive and outgoing full‑stack senior developer.
THE DETAILS:
At Matchbox, we strive to create lasting partnerships with clients. As our team and clients have grown over the last ten years, the complexity of solutions we implement has grown. We are constantly adding new features and enhancements while maintaining a large number of websites and web applications.
Due to this growth, we are seeking an experienced, full‑stack developer with extended agency experience for a full‑time position at our St. Louis office. We’re looking for someone who is responsive, fun, creative, has exceptional communication skills, and can work well in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have three‑plus years of professional experience working with clients and enjoys developing unique solutions and solving problems.

- Full‑stack developer experience
- Ability to work directly with clients to solve their problems
- Experience with Word Press sites that use custom post types, custom meta, and responsive design
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Clear, concise technical writing
- Ability to schedule support and development tasks
- Understanding of urgency
- Ability to make clear, concise decisions
- Advanced proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Git
- Team‑oriented and capable of directing other developers
- Ability to manage own workload

- Adobe Flash/Animate (we know it’s crazy, but some people still need it)
- Develop and implement fixes, features, and enhancements
- Meet with clients, account managers, and other developers to discuss project objectives and requirements
- Coordinate development schedule with account managers
- Interpret client business needs and recommend/develop solutions to suit those needs
- Estimate time required to complete work and help provide quotes for clients
- Contribute ideas and development strategies to the overall project brief
- Keep abreast of emerging technologies in new media
- Collaborate with designers, copywriters, photographers, other developers, account executives, SEO specialists, and marketing specialists
