Senior AI Software Engineer

The Leidos National Solutions team seeks a senior AI engineer to lead advanced development efforts and collaborate with pipeline engineering and deployment teams to drive innovation across complex, mission‑critical systems.

• Strong collaboration with the team in designing and implementing AI architectures, including operational status, coding improvements, dashboard tooling, and security.
• Support Leidos AI initiatives by providing insight into technologies, tooling and practices.
• Design, secure and automate AWS cloud initiatives while optimizing agent and customer experiences to the full potential of AI.
• Optimize and enhance customer experiences, improving software development flows, quality metrics, KPIs, and dashboards with AI.
• Provide broad experience in the systems engineering lifecycle and apply it to cloud initiatives involving architectural design and development.
• Lead the team to deploy and configure services with AI tools.
• Ensure AI models, pipelines, and cloud‑deployed services adhere to governance, compliance and security standards, guiding responsible AI implementation across mission systems.

• BS degree (Computer Science, Engineering or related field) and 12+ years of prior relevant experience, or MS with 10+ years of prior relevant experience, or 7 years of additional experience in lieu of a degree.
• 9+ years of experience leading, designing and implementing distributed solutions and 7+ years of experience with cloud‑based solutions (Cloud, SOA, Web‑Services) including virtualization environments, network and operating system experience.
• Must possess and maintain a TS security clearance with the ability to obtain SCI with a CI Poly.
• DoD 8570 Certification Compliance (IAT Level 2/3).
• Familiarity with team collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, Rocket Chat).
• Experience in cloud and PaaS environments.
• Subject‑matter expertise across various AI technologies.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Python, Gitlab, Cloud Formation, Zabbix, ACAS, PostgreSQL, Scrum, Kanban, Terraform.
• Knowledge of SDLC and AGILE best practices.
• Windows Domain Administrator of user accounts and group policy objects and Linux administration.
• Leadership experience demonstrating a positive, willing attitude and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with executive‑level leadership on high‑impact organizational and program matters.
• Demonstrates ability to adapt to new AI technologies and learn quickly.

• Understanding of SFH organization, Sea data and mission.
• Experience with NGA cloud‑based architecture.
• AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Developer, Machine Learning.
• Experience with IC cloud architecture implementation methodologies.
• Native cloud templating services like AWS Cloud Formation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and projects.
