As a Cloud Engineer you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on a TS/SCI level Cloud Engineer joining our team to support our intelligence customer in Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO.
HOW A CLOUD ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACTThe Cloud Engineer will be responsible for working with highly functional development team automating service deployments; optimizing system performance; integrating with enterprise authentication services; establishing/improving system monitoring; maintaining established security protocols; providing customers technical support. The Cloud Engineer will be integrated with an agile environment participating with scrums and other meetings.
SpecificDuties and Responsibilities:
- Work with A&A Team to maintain security requirements for operation of systems
- Maintain and improve existing infrastructure (build out autoscaling, support new services, optimize cost efficiencies/authentication/search, etc)
- Maintain System in AWS environment using EC2, S3, Load Balancer, and RDS
- Automate and optimize service deployments
- Delivering a full-stack web application to production; identifying and resolving operational issues in same
- Actively participating in technical requirements-gathering process (i.e. meetings with customers)
- Executing design and implementation of application features, independently / unassisted, with minimal oversight
- Refactoring legacy application code for improved reliability and maintainability
- Writing and reading unit tests; understanding code-quality analysis concepts
- Developing applications backed by a relational database; understanding RDB design concepts
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Programming, Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
- 8+ years IT experience
- Meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following:
Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA - Strong knowledge of Amazon Web Services
- Experience in automating tasks using scripted languages such as Bash, Power Shell, or Perl
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology
- Familiarity with Dev Ops development processes and Continuous Integration tools:
Git Lab, Jenkins, Nexus - Angular frontend framework; UI/UX design
- Microservice-based backend architecture; integrating with COTS/FOSS software REST APIs
- Supporting a full-stack application in a PaaS environment
- CI/CD pipeline implementation, ideally with Git Lab
- Creating and deploying containerized applications, ideally with Docker
- Designing/implementing container orchestration with Kubernetes
- Strong understanding of cloud APIs and interaction with the AWS/CLI
- Experience working with one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Ruby, or Java)
- Experience with Go programming language
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, Markdown, and portal development
- Database experience with a Postgres backend

- Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $130-$140k. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
