Lead Engineer, Platform Engineering & Delivery

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a high impact engineering team responsible for developing and evolving the LOCP platform, a strategic technology enabling the migration of flagship real time systems onto an advanced, cutting-edge container platform designed for ultra-low latency, high throughput, and resilience.
You will be working at the forefront of platform engineering, contributing to the design, implementation, and evolution of enterprise scale infrastructure and platform capabilities that operate at extraordinary scale.

Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Lead Engineer, you will:
Platform Engineering & Delivery- Lead the design, development, and evolution of LOCP platform capabilities across development, test, and production environments.
- Build, enhance, and maintain platform services using Infrastructure as Code, automation, and engineering best practices.
- Contribute to platform architecture decisions and technology roadmaps, ensuring solutions align with strategic objectives and engineering standards.
- Champion Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles across the platform, driving improvements in reliability, availability, resilience, and scalability.
- Implement and improve service observability through metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards, alerting, and operational tooling.
- Support incident analysis, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement activities to reduce operational risk and improve service quality.
- Act as a technical leader within the team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to engineers across the platform organisation.
- Partner with architecture, product, security, infrastructure, and application teams to deliver platform capabilities aligned with business needs.
- Promote a culture of engineering excellence, collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation.
- Operate effectively within agile and iterative delivery models.
- Manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and evolving environment.
- Drive high quality engineering standards including testing, documentation, peer review, and automation.
- Advocate for platform quality, reliability, supportability, and long-term maintainability.
Core Technical Skills (Primary Focus)
While candidates do not need deep expertise across every area, we are particularly interested in engineers who demonstrate advanced expertise in at least two or three of the following domains:
- Building and operating Kubernetes-based platforms in enterprise or large-scale production environments.
- Infrastructure as Code experience, particularly with Terraform.
- Experience applying Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, including service reliability, automation, observability, incident management, and operational excellence.
- Experience designing and implementing observability solutions using metrics, logging, tracing, alerting, and dashboarding technologies.
- Strong software engineering skills with Go (Golang), including development of platform services, automation tooling, APIs, or operators.
- Solid Linux systems knowledge, including troubleshooting, performance analysis, and platform operations; experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and modern software delivery practices.
Lead Engineers with expertise in multiple subject areas and a willingness to broaden their knowledge across the remaining areas will thrive in this role.
