Basic purpose

To provide a safe and reliable fleet by performing preventative maintenance and proper repairs on all fleet equipment.

Schedule:

Weekends off

* 3rd shift: sun-thurs 10pm- 6am

Essential duties and responsibilities

* perform preventative maintenance within dot standards.

* complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates, etc.).

* take directions from and assist senior technicians with repairs.

* utilize fleet maintenance system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used.

* maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules/regulations and government guidelines.

* willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.

* other duties as assigned by manager.

* internal: all fleet technicians, drivers, coordinators and manager

Work environment

* onsite: the associate in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities inside a us foods maintenance facility.

* ability to work flexible schedule.

* must be willing to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.

Minimum qualifications

* must have 1 year of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.

* must furnish own personal hand tools.

* able to read and write legibly (e.g., to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, and enter information on reports if needed); basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, divide).

Education

* high school diploma or equivalent required.

Certifications/training

* n/a

Licenses

* must possess a valid driver's license.

Preferred qualifications

* valid class a cdl license and dot certification

* experience with maximo fleet maintenance system

* previous mechanical and pm program experience

* experience using fleet maintenance software

* welding ability

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law.  The expected base rate for this role is between  $29.00/hr to $37.00/hr.

This role will also receive overtime compensation.
