Bumper to bumper preventive maintenance service and/or repair to tractors and trailers
Preventive maintenance inspections
Electrical trouble shooting
Brake system repair
Tire maintenance
Minor diesel engine repair
Air conditioning system repair
Maintaining accurate records relating to the maintenance of vehicles
Performing other work related duties as assigned
Performing all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations governing the job
Pay Range:
-
High school diploma or equivalent
21 years or older
Valid Class A CDL drivers' license with hazardous and double/triple endorsements
2 years experience on truck and trailer repair
Ability to diagnose any mechanical, electrical, or other breakdown failure in a truck tractor, trailer or dolly
Working knowledge of most systems of a truck tractor, trailer and dolly
Be able to read precision instruments including, but not limited to dial indicators, bolt meters and electronic diagnostic tools
Be able to use a welder or torch
Be familiar with proper procedures for handling hazardous materials
Read, write, speak and understand English well
Possess basic computer skills
Be willing to travel to various locations to maintain equipment
Be willing to attend training sessions
Pass DOT pre-employment drug screen, background check and DOT physical
Pass ACT road test
Must be able to move, operate, lift and store equipment including but not limited to welders, hand tools, shop machines and power tools
Must be able to complete repairs that may require bending, twisting, climbing, squatting and stretching
Spend up to 90% of the day standing and/or walking on surfaces such as concrete, wood, or metal
Hook/unhook various commercial vehicle combinations, manually lower and raise landing gear, operate the fifth wheel release lever, and open and close the cargo door
