Cardinal Ritter College Prep is seeking dependable, safety-conscious, and student-centered Bus Drivers to provide safe transportation for students to and from school, athletic events, field trips, academic competitions, and other school-sponsored activities. The Bus Driver serves as a representative of Cardinal Ritter College Prep and is expected to uphold the school's mission, values, and commitment to excellence while ensuring the safety and well-being of every passenger.

• Safely transport students to and from assigned destinations according to established schedules.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles and complete required inspection reports.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly bus at all times.
• Ensure all students follow school transportation rules and maintain appropriate behavior while riding.
• Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus safely.
• Follow all Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), Missouri State Highway Patrol, and school transportation regulations.
• Promptly report accidents, vehicle concerns, maintenance needs, student incidents, or emergencies to the Athletic Director or Director of Transportation.
• Maintain accurate transportation logs, mileage records, and trip documentation.
• Communicate professionally with students, parents, coaches, school personnel, and administration.
• Transport athletic teams, academic groups, and other organizations for school-sponsored events, including evenings and weekends when assigned.
• Fuel buses as needed and report any maintenance issues immediately.
• Attend required safety meetings, professional development, and training sessions.
• Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Missouri Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
• Current Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Examiner's Certificate.
• Clean driving record with an acceptable motor vehicle history.
• Ability to pass criminal background checks, fingerprinting, drug screening, and all required pre-employment screenings.
• Ability to obtain and maintain all certifications required by state and federal regulations.
• Previous school bus driving experience preferred, but not required.

• Strong commitment to student safety.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies.
• Knowledge of defensive driving techniques and traffic laws.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.

• Ability to sit for extended periods while operating a commercial vehicle.
• Ability to enter and exit the bus multiple times daily.
• Ability to assist students in emergency evacuations.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.
• Meet all physical requirements established by the Missouri Department of Transportation and Department of Public Safety.
