Responsibilities

  • Perform the required duties in accordance safety guidelines and lean principles by complying with all safety procedures and all company policies.
  • Program, setup and operate one or more numeric control or computer numeric control machines to perform turning, drilling, reaming, tapping, milling, boring, welding, and other machining operations over a wide range of part types.
  • Perform daily tasks to produce parts, including but not limited to, loading/unloading equipment, gathering materials/components, positioning work area and setting parameters.
  • Utilize various hand tools, specialty tools, and measuring equipment to complete assigned tasks.
  • Understand and facilitate Kanban inventory system accuracy.
  • Ability to edit and modify numeric control programs.
  • Determine operation sequence, select and adjust tools. Job setups may be complex and require machining to very close tolerances.
  • Perform inspection of parts utilizing gauges / measuring devices and reviews blueprints/diagrams to ensure components are being manufactured in accordance with the part specification.
  • Read blueprints and produce quality parts to print requirements and customer specifications.
  • Complete various types of paperwork related to production reporting.
  • Maintains work areas by cleaning and organizing the space and equipment
  • Deals ethically with Parker’s customers, suppliers, fellow associates and the general public.
  • Actively participates in company-sponsored training programs
  • Completes additional duties and projects as assigned.

Shift: Second shift (3:00pm - 11:00pm EST).

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Basic math skills required
  • Understanding of gauging / measuring devices required
  • Blueprint understanding required. (geometric tolerancing
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions to complete tasks that may be repetitive
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and organize work/priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of previous machining experience preferred
  • Understanding of G-Code programming preferred
Benefits
  • Starting rate $26.92 per hour up to $31.08 per hour. Plus $1.00 shift premium for off shift.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to hear and speak. The employee must regularly stand, walk, sit and use hands to grasp and handle. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 40 lbs. The employee will regularly bend, stoop, and stretch handling parts/objects in various situations. Specific vision requirements include close vision, ability to focus, and depth perception.

This position may be exposed to oils, dirt, fumes and moving equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
