American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care/Cardiovascular Unit RN for a night shift assignment requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS/ACLS certification.

• Work in a hospital Cardiovascular Unit providing intermediate care for cardiac surgery patients from pre-op through discharge
• Care for pre/post-cardiac intervention patients including PTCA, cardioversion, generator implants, and TAVR
• Additional monitored beds support patients presenting with atypical chest pain
• Full-time night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 36 hours per week
• Weekend and holiday coverage required per unit needs

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings in accordance with scope of practice and hospital policy
• Develop and prioritize individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the inter-professional team
• Implement patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within scope of practice
• Educate patients and families on procedures, treatments, and discharge planning
• Delegate and oversee care activities performed by other team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives including patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
• Promote a positive, healing-focused environment through collaborative teamwork
