Travel: up to 10%

Salary: $25.67 – $37.26 hourly; $53,598 – $77,798 annually

Overview

The UI Auditor reviews employer records, conducts audits, applies Unemployment Insurance laws and accounting principles, and ensures accurate and timely benefit payments.

Responsibilities
  • Review employer records to determine liability under Minnesota Unemployment Insurance Law.
  • Examine records to resolve employer liability and worker status issues.
  • Perform routine unemployment tax audits to verify wage reporting and employer compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with employers, representatives, and UI Division staff.
  • Occasional travel to employer businesses when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
  • One (1) year of customer service experience, including answering inquiries, explaining policies, and handling difficult conversations over the phone.
  • Experience with financial records, record keeping, payroll, basic accounting, or auditing.
  • Communication skills to work with diverse clientele.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or advanced degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience in Unemployment Insurance adjudication or eligibility determination.
  • Experience in accounting or auditing.
  • Demonstrated cultural responsiveness and experience working with diverse backgrounds.
Additional Requirements
  • Background check including criminal, employment records, reference, conflict of interest, driver’s license.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; no work visa sponsorship.>
