Advent Talent Group is seeking a Senior Accountant for a nonprofit organization based in St. Paul, MN. This interim role supports the organization's accounting operations by maintaining general ledger accounts, performing reconciliations, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies, while playing a key part in delivering accurate financial information and improving processes.
Overview- Location:
St. Paul, MN (Hybrid – 2 days per week onsite, including Tuesdays) - Pay: $50-$60/hour
- Schedule:
Contract role through mid-September - Hours:
Part-time, 24–32 hours per week
- Provide oversight of retail activities, including inventory
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, investments, and bank accounts
- Review invoices in SAP Concur for proper coding and accounting treatment
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls
- 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience with general ledger accounting and account reconciliations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (not required)
- Nonprofit experience a plus (not required)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality with sensitive financial information
