Sr. Tax Accountant

Job Details

Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 per year.

We are a locally owned family CPA firm in the northern suburbs looking for a full-time Sr. Tax Staff Accountant to join our growing firm.

• Prepare and review a variety of tax returns, including individual, partnership, corporate (C and S), estates, trusts, and nonprofits.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state tax laws and regulations.
• Provide expert tax planning services to help clients minimize tax liabilities and ensure future financial stability.
• Perform tax accounting duties, accurately calculating tax liabilities, preparing tax documents, and maintaining tax records.
• Conduct thorough tax reviews to identify potential issues and propose effective solutions.
• Assist with limited bookkeeping duties to complete tax returns and update clients' books.
• Stay updated with the latest tax laws and regulations, applying this knowledge to your work.
• Provide excellent customer service, building strong relationships with clients.

• A minimum of 4 years of tax experience.
• 4-year Accounting degree required.
• CPA preferred or on track.
• Extensive experience with real estate tax, federal and state tax, income tax, tax planning, and tax accounting.
• Proven experience preparing a variety of tax returns, including individual, partnership, corporate (C and S), estates, trusts, and nonprofits.
• Experience with limited bookkeeping to complete tax returns and update clients’ books.
• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to make sound decisions.
