Staff Accountant

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations for an on‑site accounting team in St. Paul, MN. This role is hands‑on and execution‑focused, responsible for routine accounting tasks including journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end close support. The position requires a strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and the ability to work independently within established processes.

• Prepare and post journal entries throughout the month, including fixed assets, prepaids, and routine accruals
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations
• Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and supporting documentation
• Support month‑end close activities by completing assigned tasks accurately and on deadline
• Review journal entries after posting to ensure balances moved as intended
• Assist with clean‑up of legacy balance sheet items and reconciling differences

Provide backup support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities

• Assist with billing, invoice creation, and customer follow‑up as needed
• Provide transaction detail and documentation to support audits
• Perform additional accounting duties as assigned

• 2 years of general Accounting experience
• Understanding of debits, credits, and the purpose of journal entries
• Ability to read and understand financial statements, including Balance Sheet and P&L
• Experience assisting with or supporting month‑end close
• Experience performing balance sheet reconciliations
• Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and working with data
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field – Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with Epicor or similar ERP systems
• Exposure to Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable processes
• Experience with legacy data clean‑up or complex reconciliations
