Job Overview
We are a locally owned family CPA firm in the northern suburbs looking for a full‑time Senior Tax Staff Accountant to join our growing firm.
Salary: $100,000 – $130,000 per year.
The role involves a wide range of tax‑related tasks, including real estate tax, federal and state tax, income tax, tax planning, and tax accounting. The successful candidate will work directly with clients, preparing a variety of tax returns, including individual, partnership, corporate (C and S), estates, trusts, and nonprofits. The role also involves limited bookkeeping to complete tax returns and update clients’ books.
Responsibilities- Prepare and review a variety of tax returns, including individual, partnership, corporate (C and S), estates, trusts, and nonprofits.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state tax laws and regulations.
- Provide expert tax planning services to help clients minimize tax liabilities and ensure future financial stability.
- Perform tax accounting duties, accurately calculating tax liabilities, preparing tax documents, and maintaining tax records.
- Conduct thorough tax reviews to identify potential issues and propose effective solutions.
- Assist with limited bookkeeping duties to complete tax returns and update clients’ books.
- Stay updated with the latest tax laws and regulations, applying this knowledge to your work.
- Provide excellent customer service, building strong relationships with clients.
- A minimum of 4 years of tax experience.
- 4‑year Accounting degree is required.
- CPA preferred or on the CPA track.
- Extensive experience with real estate tax, federal and state tax, income tax, tax planning, and tax accounting.
- Proven experience preparing a variety of tax returns, including individual, partnership, corporate (C and S), estates, trusts, and nonprofits.
- Experience with limited bookkeeping to complete tax returns and update clients’ books.
- Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions.
