Full Charge Bookkeeper

Robert Half is looking for an efficient Full Charge Bookkeeper to take on an exciting job opportunity! To be successful in this role and take advantage of the growth potential, you should multitask effectively, manage your time well, and have strong communication and organizational skills. In this role, you will carry out all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including but not limited to preparing financial statements, and establishing and preserving accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives.

The Full Charge Bookkeeper position is a long term contract opportunity in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Responsibilities

- Handling monthly, quarterly and year end close, accurately and on time

- Putting together the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement

- Maintaining adherence to federal, state, and local legal requirements by keeping up to date on them, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions

- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable; handling collections as needed

- Reconciling bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll

- Preparing depreciation schedules by tracking fixed assets

- Retaining historical records through the accurate filing of documents

Requirements

- Knowledgeable of accrual and cash basis of accounting

- AA or BA/BS in Accounting or related

- 2+ years of experience in the bookkeeping field

- Experience with payroll preferred

- Competence with financial data analysis and report generation that is prompt and accurate

- Microsoft Excel experience

- Quick Books or other ERP experience required

- Solid understanding of full charge bookkeeping

- Flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments
