We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing team in the Southeast Metro. This role will be responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, month-end close activities, financial reporting, and account reconciliations. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and eager to grow their accounting career within a collaborative environment. Responsibilities commonly include general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close support.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and general ledger transactions.
- Perform monthly bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain and analyze financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
- Assist with financial statement preparation and reporting.
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
- Support audits by preparing schedules and providing requested documentation.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and assist with special projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3-6 years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting principles.
- Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookup functions.
- Experience with ERP or accounting software systems.
Preferred Qualifications- Manufacturing, distribution, construction, or project-based accounting experience.
- CPA eligibility or progress toward CPA certification.
- Experience working with financial reporting and variance analysis.
- Competitive compensation up to $85,000.
