Assistant Controller
Salary: $110,000 - $140,000
Our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join its growing finance team. This is a hybrid opportunity located north of St. Paul, requiring only 1 day/week in office. This position plays a key leadership role in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys improving processes, partnering with operational leaders, and helping develop a high-performing accounting team.

Key Responsibilities- Assist with the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for leadership.
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process.
- Assist with annual audit preparation and coordinate requests from external auditors.
- Oversee general ledger activities and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Help maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes.
- Assist with regulatory and external financial reporting requirements.
- Research and apply new accounting guidance as needed.
- Mentor and support members of the accounting team while promoting continuous process improvement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to provide financial insights that support business decisions.
- Participate in special projects and other accounting initiatives as assigned.
