Payroll Tax Specialist Job Description
- Process and manage payroll taxes for employees across all 50 states.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Prepare and file payroll tax returns and reports.
- Monitor and respond to daily changes in tax laws and regulations.
- Reconcile payroll tax accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Assist with audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
- Maintain accurate and organized payroll tax records.
- Ensure that computing, withholding, and deductions are done correctly.
- Complete weekly certified payroll and monthly utilization reports.
- Reconcile, calculate, and remit monthly union fringe benefits.
- 3+ years of multi-state Payroll Tax experience (manual processes, all done in-house).
- 3+ years of high technical ability, intermediate/expert Excel usage including pivot tables, v-lookups, and macros.
- 1+ years of union experience.
Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of Vertex experience.
- 2+ years of COINS experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
This is a Contract position based out of Saint Paul, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $34.00 - $40.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
