Pay Rate: $16.50
Hours:
Must have availability Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:45am - Noon and Saturdays 12-5pm
JOB SUMMARY:
Archbishop Ireland Memorial Library on St. Paul South Campus is looking for a Student Circulation Assistant. This position circulates materials, maintains the library collection, and assists patrons with basic research needs. It may also involve site management without staff supervision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
As an Ireland Library Circulation Assistant, you will perform the following tasks:
* Circulate incoming and outgoing library materials
* Scan books for inter-library loan
* Maintain the collection (find & shelve books, shelf-read, etc.) according to the Library of Congress call number system
* Uphold a culture of academic hospitality and customer service for a diverse community of patrons in a Catholic seminary environment
* Provide basic reference, research, and technical assistance in-person and over the phone
* Perform miscellaneous administrative duties such as building walk-throughs, carrel checks, and statistics tracking
* Occasionally manage site without supervision
* Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
* Proficient computer skills
* Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
* Strong interest and ability in problem-solving
* Ability to balance priorities to meet deadlines
* Ability to maintain confidentiality
* Ability to follow directions and ask for clarification as needed

ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for student employment, St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.
