Job SummaryThis position exists to provide various clerical duties essential for the agency to accomplish its goals of determining claimants' eligibility for Social Security Disability benefits and/or Supplemental Security Income benefits. These positions perform a variety of clerical tasks for Disability Determination Services.
Duties include:
- Performing administrative and front desk support.
- Responding to general inquiries from employees, applicants, and members of the public.
- Receiving and assigning incoming claims.
- Processing incoming paper mail and electronically scanned correspondence.
- Organizing and mailing letters to claimants, medical sources, schools, legal representatives, and other partners, as well as scanning various documents and process faxes.
This position will be based out of the St. Paul office.

- Knowledge of standard computer software programs for word processing, spreadsheets, and databases sufficient to create, modify, and protect files.
- Skill in customer service sufficient to answer questions and advise customers of program policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Skill in customer service sufficient to provide prompt and accurate information to customers in person, on the phone, and through email and other written or electronic correspondence.
- Ability to present information to diverse customers.
- Skill in document and records management sufficient to accurately file and categorize electronic documents.
